New 'Gaming' Laptop

'Gaming' in quotations because I'm not really looking for anything too intensive. I mostly play Football Manager, Crusader Kings etc., style of games, but would like the option to occasionally play some newer RPGs if possible. I'm after something between £1,200 and £1600 and reasonably lightweight, as I often travel with my personal laptop and work laptop, and I'm also using this as an excuse to revamp my home office space (hence the monitor, new basic keyboard + mouse, and an incoming IKEA office chair).

How does the below look? Any and all suggestions very welcome, including any opinions on the monitor.

Looks really good for the budget and fits the games you're playing well. Personally I far prefer AMD in laptops over Intel.

I personally wouldn't bother with the laptop cooler, they don't really achieve much as they're just blowing air into the underside of the laptop where there aren't any vents anyway, so it's rather pointless. You'll find that a simple laptop stand that just elevates it slightly from the desk surface will have much the same effect.

It's a full IPS monitor and good price, really like what Asus have done with the Tuf monitors.

The only other amendment I'd make would be to have a primary SSD of 512Gb as the P44 Pro for fast OS, then a secondary 1Tb for data, can drop down to a P41. This way if you ever have to reinstall windows (which is a given on any system), you don't lose your data drive.

If you factor in dropping the cooler and adjusting the storage as above, it comes to £1708, so actually £1 cheaper!

Ah thanks so much! Appreciate your insight, and reassuring that I was on the right track. I've gone with your suggested tweaks, all makes sense. I'll use the one quid saving to raise a bottle of beer in your honour when I christen this badboy next weekend. Cheers!
